About the Project
This project supports the design, coordination, delivery, and lifecycle management of structured cabling across existing and new enterprise data centers in Japan. The successful candidate will help translate technology requirements into practical cabling solutions, coordinate installation activities, review technical documentation, and ensure that systems are delivered accurately and safely within live data center environments. The project provides exposure to large-scale infrastructure buildouts, high-density copper and fiber architectures, vendor management, commissioning, and operational handover.
The client is a global IT services and consulting organization supporting enterprise technology environments. Its work spans data center infrastructure, networking, and technology operations for large-scale business environments. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside international engineering, technology, corporate services, and data center operations teams while developing expertise in mission-critical infrastructure delivery and lifecycle support.
Responsibilities
- Lead cabling design coordination for new and existing data centers in alignment with global infrastructure standards and design guidelines.
- Develop and review technical design documents, shop drawings, specifications, and scope definitions using AutoCAD.
- Consolidate cabling requirements from networking, server, security, and other technology teams.
- Prepare and coordinate tender documentation and support vendor evaluation activities.
- Manage cabling-related project activities, including schedules, budgets, logistics, vendor coordination, and delivery tracking.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, including support outside normal business hours when required.
- Maintain accurate patching records, patch panel records, as-built documentation, and operational manuals.
- Coordinate move, add, and change activities with data center operations teams and service providers.
- Identify delivery risks, resolve technical or coordination issues, and provide clear project updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with operational constraints within live data center environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mission-critical, regulated, or enterprise data center environments.
- Familiarity with internationally recognized cabling standards or RCDD principles.
- Experience with high-density fiber cassette systems and LC, MPO/MTP, OS2, OM4+, and Cat6A solutions.
- Familiarity with Fluke DSX-5000 or DSX-8000 cable analyzers and industry-standard testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of data center racks, cabinets, patching systems, and common cabling architectures.
- Exposure to Cisco or Arista networking equipment.
- Experience using structured project management, documentation, reporting, and change-control processes.
- Vendor management, tender support, or technical consulting experience.
- Professional fluency in both Japanese and English, written and verbal.
