The Company:
Our client is an international freight forwarding and logistics company with an established network across Asia. As part of its expansion in Vietnam, the company is setting up its Ho Chi Minh City office and is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to build and lead the local business.
Role & Responsibilities:
Lead the setup and development of the company’s Ho Chi Minh City office.
Drive business development and build the company’s customer base in Vietnam, with a primary focus on Ocean Freight.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local customers, shipping lines, service providers, and logistics partners.
Identify new business opportunities and deliver sustainable revenue growth in line with the company’s objectives.
Guide the Operations team in managing daily freight-forwarding activities and ensuring consistent service quality.
Oversee the overall performance of the branch, covering Sales, Operations, and Accounting functions.
Recruit, build, and manage the local team as the business develops.
Establish effective working processes and ensure smooth coordination between the Vietnam office and regional management.
Monitor branch performance, operating costs, service standards, and business risks.
Provide regular business updates and reports to the General Manager of the Vietnam office.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Solid experience in the freight-forwarding and logistics industry, with strong knowledge of Ocean Freight.
Proven experience in business development, customer acquisition, and market expansion in Vietnam.
Good understanding of freight-forwarding operations and the ability to guide an Operations team.
Strong local network among customers, shipping lines, logistics service providers, and other industry partners.
Previous experience in branch management, team leadership, or a similar senior management role.
Hands-on, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a new office setup environment.
Strong leadership, commercial awareness, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Good command of English for communication with regional stakeholders.
