Director / Head of Product - Payments
About the Company
We're partnering with a well-funded, high-growth fintech building modern infrastructure for financial operations. They're hiring a Director or Head of Product to own core payments infrastructure and the liquidity engine behind it.
Role & Responsibilities
A high-ownership leadership role spanning payment rails, connectors, FX, and internal liquidity; setting strategy while staying close to execution.
Own the payments roadmap across local and cross-border rails, messaging standards, and payment methods
Drive the end-to-end payment experience: initiation, approvals, beneficiary management, reconciliation, and exception handling
Manage internal liquidity including pre-funding, sweeps, and settlement timing to reduce trapped cash and funding friction
Own the connector lifecycle from partner discovery, scoping, onboarding, to health monitoring
Shape product narrative and customer-facing content, with sign-off on related collateral and strategy representation to leadership and key partners
Requirements
8+ years in product, including 5+ years owning payments at a fintech, processor, bank, or PSP, with senior/leadership experience
Strong grasp of payment rails, clearing and settlement, cross-border messaging standards, and FX; and credible with treasury teams on liquidity and funding mechanics
Comfortable in technical conversations without writing the code, with a track record setting product strategy and influencing at the leadership level
Bias for shipping over process
Bonus: B2B cross-border, embedded payments, ERP or open banking connectivity, stablecoin/ on-chain liquidity exposure, or early-stage fintech experience
