about 5 hoursAbout Our Client
Our client is a growing SaaS company serving the pipeline integrity and utility management space. Their cloud-native software helps pipeline operators and utilities manage the safety, compliance, and integrity of their critical infrastructure, using data science and machine learning to turn complex asset data into decisions. They are now building a new AI-driven threat and risk management platform for pipeline asset integrity.
Role Overview
We're looking for a mid-level, full-stack Software Engineer to build both the interfaces operators use and the services behind them for this new platform, which brings together a governed Databricks and Azure data platform, an AI-powered data ingestion layer, and an analytical layer that runs industry, internally developed, and customer-built risk models. Front end is the primary focus, so strong TypeScript and React experience matters most, with back-end work in TypeScript and Python as the second pillar. Pipeline integrity experience is welcome but not required. The interfaces are still being defined, so you will help shape the product and its technical foundation. This is a fully remote role within the US.
Key Responsibilities
Build production interfaces in TypeScript and React, implementing UX designs faithfully and raising design gaps and edge cases with designers early.
Build model configuration and threat-selection workflows: multi-step flows, parameter forms, input validation, and clear error and recovery states.
Build data-dense interfaces: sortable and filterable result tables, dashboards, system-to-segment drill-downs, and map-based risk visualization.
Design experiences for long-running analytical jobs, with progress indicators, partial results, and failure recovery.
Build reusable, well-typed, accessible components for a shared component library and design system.
Design and build REST APIs and services in TypeScript and Python for model configuration, execution, and results retrieval, with clear contracts, versioning, and OpenAPI documentation.
Build event-driven orchestration services for long-running analytical workloads, including status tracking, result persistence, and failure handling.
Integrate with Databricks and Azure (model serving endpoints, Storage, Functions, API Management, containers) and design schemas and queries across the application data store and lakehouse.
Build the framework that lets customers deploy, configure, and run their own models, including data-mapping workflows, results integration, and tenant isolation controls.
Write automated tests across the stack, implement authentication and tenant isolation, remediate security vulnerabilities, and contribute to code reviews and CI/CD.
Partner with Design, Data Science, Product, and QA on requirements, edge cases, and release readiness.
Requirements
3-5 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
Strong TypeScript and React, including hooks, state management, component composition, and performance optimization for data-heavy interfaces.
Ability to implement UX designs faithfully, with attention to spacing, component states, transitions, and interaction details.
Strong back-end experience in TypeScript and Python, building and consuming REST APIs in production.
Relational database design, query development, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (Azure preferred): managed compute, storage, API gateway, secrets management, and monitoring.
Experience with event-driven architecture, queues, or pub/sub systems for asynchronous processing.
Modern front-end tooling and testing, Git workflows, and DevOps practices including CI/CD and deployment automation.
Vulnerability management and remediation, including dependency scanning and security patching.
Nice-to-Have
Experience building data-dense analytical interfaces: large tables, dashboards, filtering, and drill-down workflows.
Mapping, geospatial, and charting libraries.
Databricks, Apache Spark, or integrating machine learning model-serving endpoints into applications.
Containerized deployment, and multi-tenant SaaS with per-tenant isolation.
OpenAPI or Swagger specifications and API documentation tooling.
AI-assisted or agentic coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in a professional workflow.
Exposure to asset integrity, damage prevention, or land management domains.
Auditable, traceable software for regulatory purposes, and WCAG accessibility experience.
Benefits
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
401(k) plan with company match.
Generous paid time off and company-paid holidays.
Flexible work options.
On-call compensation for eligible on-call shifts.
