Forward Deployed Engineer (2 openings)
Join a fast-growing SaaS company transforming how energy and utility operators manage critical infrastructure. Our platform combines machine learning, GIS integration, and enterprise analytics to help pipeline operators make safer, smarter decisions across the full asset lifecycle.
About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be the technical bridge between our platform and the pipeline operators who rely on it every day. This is a domain-first role: your pipeline integrity knowledge is what sets you apart, not a traditional software engineering background.
You'll work directly with operators, integrity engineers, GIS specialists, and data teams to onboard them onto the platform, mapping data, configuring modules, validating integrity datasets, and making sure the platform delivers real value from day one.
What You'll Do
Lead discovery sessions with customers to understand their integrity programs and translate requirements into implementation plans
Guide customers through migrating and mapping ILI datasets, PODS/APDM/UPDM GIS models, corrosion and CP databases
Write and validate SQL scripts and ETL routines to load and reconcile pipeline integrity data
Support GIS and API integrations, including Esri ArcGIS, PODS databases, and ILI vendor platforms
Deliver hands-on training to integrity engineers, GIS analysts, and operations teams
Build reusable playbooks and configuration guides for future implementations
What You Bring
5+ years in a technical pipeline role: integrity engineer, pipeline data analyst, GIS specialist, or integrity management consultant
Hands-on experience with ILI data (ROSEN, Baker Hughes, Applus+, NDT Global, or similar); familiarity with MFL, UT, EMAT, or IMU technologies
Working knowledge of PODS data models, Esri ArcGIS, corrosion and cathodic protection data
Understanding of pipeline regulatory frameworks (PHMSA, ASME B31.8S, API 1160, or 49 CFR 192/195)
SQL proficiency, comfortable writing and debugging queries against integrity databases
Strong communicator, equally comfortable with field engineers and executive stakeholders
Nice to Have
Python scripting for data processing or ETL
Direct operator or midstream experience
Exposure to AI/ML applications in pipeline integrity
