What the job entails

As Retail Property Manager, you will oversee the on-site management of shopping centres and mixed-use facilities in Japan. You will build effective relationships with property owners and tenants, while coordinating the activities that support smooth operations and strong asset performance.

Your responsibilities will include contributing to leasing and revenue management, preparing and monitoring budgets, and supporting marketing initiatives. You will also plan maintenance and coordinate refurbishment projects, working with relevant stakeholders to keep facilities safe, attractive and fit for purpose. This is a permanent, on-site role based in Tokyo, with shift-based working. The position involves working within a retail management operation, with flexibility to consider regional placements.

Key requirements

• At least two years’ business experience.
• Experience in retail operations, commercial facility management or store development is preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• The ability to manage multiple operational and commercial priorities in a hands-on environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the judgement to work effectively with owners, tenants and other stakeholders.
• A practical, organised approach to planning, budgeting, maintenance and project coordination.
• Flexibility to work on-site and on a shift basis.
• Willingness to relocate if required; regional placement options may be considered.
