About the Job:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage end-to-end accounts payable, month-end closing, and balance sheet reconciliations while ensuring compliance with IFRS and strong internal controls. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial data integrity, supporting audits, and continuously improving accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing: Overseeing the end-to-end process of invoice receipt, verification, and entry into the accounting system.
Payment Processing: Managing weekly payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments to vendors.
Vendor Management: Maintaining vendor records, responding to vendor inquiries, and resolving any payment discrepancies.
Expense Reporting: Reviewing and processing employee expense reports in accordance with company policy.
Policy and Procedure: Developing, maintaining, and enforcing accounts payable policies and procedures to ensure best practices and strong internal controls.
Month-End Close: Executing month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Account Reconciliation: Performing regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
Financial Data Integrity: Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger in accordance with IFRS.
Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Operational Support: Improve on current processes, procedures, and internal controls as required.
Other Ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent.
At least 3 years of Finance/Accounting experience in a related field.
Basic knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, corporate tax, and GST rules and regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Fast learner with a strong sense of initiative, driven, able to work independently, and a good team player.
Possess good interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Meticulous, with an attention to detail, and a high level of numeracy.
Able to work under pressure and meet accounting deadlines.
