CGP Thailand is partnering with a global food manufacturer to hire a senior HR leader for its Asia business.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a long-established, family-owned international food manufacturer. It creates custom ingredient solutions for customers on five continents, built on deep technical expertise, control of its supply chains and a strong commitment to responsible, sustainable business.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Asia business is entering its next stage of growth. It needs an HR function that goes beyond administration and acts as a real business partner.
As HR Director, you'll build that function for a regional team of about 130 people across Thailand (office and factory), China, India and remote employees around APAC. You'll sit on the APAC Leadership Team, report to the APAC General Manager and the Group CPO, and lead a Thailand HR team of three.
This is a build role, not a maintain role. You'll be the guardian of a culture built on accountability, autonomy, agility and bold decision-making.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Stabilise and upgrade HR in Thailand: contracts, compliance with Thai labour law, payroll inputs and HR documentation in a manufacturing BOI/IBC environment
- Rebuild recruitment and onboarding, including 30/60/90-day check-ins, and personally manage senior and critical hires
- Analyse attrition by site, function and tenure, and launch exit and stay interviews to bring turnover down
- Design job grading, salary bands and written policies for pay, promotions and incentives
- Set up performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and an L&D roadmap
- Define practical HR standards and governance across APAC entities
- Build HR dashboards and lead the selection and rollout of a fit-for-purpose HRMS
- Coach managers to lead people well, and grow the HR team into a strong business-support function
YOUR FIRST YEAR
- First 90 days: audit contracts and HR files, review payroll controls, map attrition and agree priorities with leadership
- Months 4 to 6: roll out new templates, rebuild recruitment and onboarding, start job grading and the APAC governance map
- Months 7 to 12: launch salary bands and compensation policies, run the performance cycle and finalise the HRMS roadmap
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A senior, hands-on HR leader who can draft an employment contract, challenge a weak job description, build a salary band and analyse attrition data personally
- Strong knowledge of Thai labour law, ideally in a manufacturing setting
- Experience in regional or multi-country HR, as a business partner to senior leadership
- Mature, discreet and firm, with the people skills to challenge poor practice while building trust with employees
- At ease in a developing HR environment where many foundations are still being laid
WHY JOIN
- Build the HR function from the ground up and see your impact clearly
- A seat on the APAC Leadership Team of a respected, values-led family business
- Regional scope across Thailand, China, India and wider APAC
- A company with a strong focus on its people and sustainability
