Senior Tender Engineer – Medium Voltage Compact Substations
(Location: HCM or Ha Noi or Bac Ninh, Vietnam)
About the Role
We are looking for a Tender/Bid Engineer to prepare technical-commercial bids, estimates, and quotations for Compact Secondary Substation (CSS) products manufactured at our local factory, part of a global leader in electrical distribution solutions. You will report to the Project & Tendering Manager and act as the key link between engineering, sales, and customers throughout the bidding process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare competitive bids/quotations based on customer specifications, ensuring accurate, well-documented, and timely submissions.
Configure the most suitable technical solution and product type for each project; manage pricing, cost sheets, and cash flow analysis.
Coordinate bid preparation activities on schedule, including external services (translations, government approvals).
Maintain bid documentation, track win/loss analysis, and report bid status using internal tools.
Identify and assess risks in bids and contracts; support the risk review process.
Collect technical and cost information from relevant stakeholders to compile full proposals.
Build strong customer relationships; provide technical support to Sales Managers during customer meetings.
Evaluate potential vendors/suppliers for equipment and materials; work with supply chain on subcontractor coordination.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred); Mechanical Engineering knowledge is a plus.
Minimum 4 years of experience in tendering, technical sales support, or bid engineering.
Strong knowledge of Medium Voltage electrical products, especially switchgear and compact substations, is a strong advantage.
Experience working with overseas/international customers.
Good English communication and negotiation skills.
