As a Lab Technician specializing in Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Sanger sequencing, you will support high-quality genomic services delivered to research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and healthcare customers. Based in Tokyo, you will contribute to the preparation, processing, sequencing, and handling of biological samples according to established laboratory procedures.
Your responsibilities will include performing routine laboratory workflows, operating and maintaining sequencing-related equipment, monitoring quality throughout the process, and accurately recording experimental and sample information. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure reliable turnaround, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment. Hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology, genomics, DNA analysis, or a related discipline.
Practical knowledge of, or strong interest in, Oxford Nanopore Technologies and Sanger sequencing workflows.
Experience with sample preparation, DNA handling, PCR, electrophoresis, or related laboratory techniques.
Ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures and maintain consistently high levels of accuracy.
Strong attention to detail when labeling samples, recording results, and managing laboratory documentation.
Ability to operate laboratory equipment safely and identify or escalate workflow and equipment issues.
