As a Sales Representative / Sales Supervisor, you will develop the commercial solar and ground-mounted photovoltaic business in Japan. You will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, generating your own key accounts, managing existing customers, and delivering revenue growth in line with agreed targets.
Your responsibilities will include building relationships with project developers, investors, government bodies, and other industry stakeholders; negotiating contracts; monitoring market and competitor activity; and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline in Salesforce. You will prepare regular reports, execute quarterly and annual sales plans, support marketing initiatives, and represent the company at relevant trade shows and industry events.
This is a field-oriented role based in Tokyo, with frequent domestic travel to meet customers and prospects. Success will be measured through sales performance, megawatts sold, market development, profitability, and customer relationship growth.
At least two years of B2B sales experience in Japan for the Sales Representative level, or approximately five years for the Sales Supervisor level.
Strong understanding of the Japanese solar photovoltaic market and renewable energy sector.
Experience selling solar modules, batteries, energy storage systems, electrical components, or similar technical products.
Demonstrated success achieving sales targets and managing a measurable sales pipeline.
Proven ability to combine new business development with key account management.
Fluent business-level Japanese, with the ability to work effectively with local customers, partners, and government agencies.
Business-level or conversational Chinese for internal communication with regional colleagues.
Business-level English is preferred for supporting English-speaking clients in Japan.
Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
A proactive, self-motivated, target-driven approach and the ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including comfort with direct and fast-paced business communication.
Willingness to travel frequently within Japan for customer and project meetings.
