As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with important customers in Japan. Your objective will be to understand customer needs, build long-term partnerships and grow business through the effective positioning of the organisation’s products and solutions.
Key responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of strategic accounts, identifying new commercial opportunities and developing account plans aligned with customer priorities. You will work closely with internal colleagues, including [suggestion: sales, technical support, marketing and applications teams], to deliver appropriate solutions and a high standard of customer service.
The role will also involve maintaining accurate sales activity and pipeline information, preparing proposals and presentations, negotiating agreements and monitoring market developments within the life sciences sector.
Proven experience in account management, business development or sales, ideally within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or laboratory technology.
Strong understanding of customer relationship management and the ability to identify, qualify and progress commercial opportunities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage laboratory, technical, procurement and senior business stakeholders.
A consultative, customer-focused approach and the ability to translate customer requirements into appropriate solutions.
Strong negotiation, organisation and follow-through skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across sales, technical and operational functions.
Fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English.
Willingness to travel to customer sites within Japan when required.
