About Our Client
Our client is a growing SaaS company that builds software for the people who run critical infrastructure. Its customers operate pipelines, gas and electric utilities, telecom networks, and other infrastructure across North America, and its products cover areas such as underground damage prevention and asset integrity for pipelines.
The Role
As an Account Executive, you'll sell across the company's full product portfolio. You'll manage a group of current customers while also pursuing new target accounts through outreach. You'll report to the VP, Retention & Growth Accounts, join a team of 5, and work closely with support, customer success, sales engineers, finance, and leadership. Industry experience is key in this role: the industries our client sells into have many acronyms, stakeholders, and company hierarchies, so a background in at least one of them is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell across the full product portfolio to customers in telecom, gas and electric utilities, oil & gas / pipelines, and damage prevention.
- Manage a group of current customers, handling requests such as contracts, renewals, and quotes, and growing those accounts over time.
- Pursue new target accounts through outreach and build your own book of business.
- Meet with customers, understand their needs, and position the right solution.
- Run the sales cycle from first conversation to close.
- Work closely with support, customer success, sales engineers, finance (renewals and quotes), and leadership.
- Keep sales activity, pipeline, and forecast information up to date in Salesforce.
- Attend conferences and industry events, a couple of times a year at first.
Requirements
- 2-3+ years of B2B sales experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in one or more of these industries: telecom, gas utility, electric utility, oil & gas / pipelines, or underground damage prevention.
- Solid understanding of the full sales process, from prospecting and discovery to proposals, negotiation, and closing.
- Ability to manage existing customer relationships and pursue new business at the same time.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Based in the US or Canada, and able to work Monday to Friday on Eastern time.
- Willing to travel a couple of times a year, with the possibility of more over time.
Nice-to-Have
- Sales experience with asset integrity solutions for pipelines, especially selling to pipeline integrity engineers.
- Extensive experience in underground damage prevention.
- An existing network in utilities, telecom, pipelines, or damage prevention.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions.
- Experience using Salesforce CRM.
- Located in the Eastern or Central time zone.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus uncapped commission.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance options (US).
- 401(k) plan with company match (US).
- Flexible PTO policy plus company-paid holidays.
- Life insurance, pet insurance, employee discounts, and perks programs.
- All equipment provided, plus a one-time work-from-home stipend.
- Team events, including monthly company lunches, volunteer outings, and quarterly gatherings.
