Job Summary: The Senior Security Engineer (Lead) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's security related managed service for our clients. This role involves leading security projects, optimizing security tooling performance, ensuring high availability, responding incidents, preventing security events, and providing technical expertise to support the clients’ network safety and security needs. The Senior Security Lead plays a critical role in driving operational innovation, resolving complex issues, and ensuring a safe client working environment across the organization. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, configure, and deploy security solutions, including SIEM for monitoring, logging, incident resolution, response, reviewing and a safe network infrastructure. 2. Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively in written and spoken form to broad internal and external entities including non-technical executives, corporate officers, business colleagues, product and service vendors and peers in solution presentations. 3. Aptitude to quickly learn in dynamic fast paced business environment with various customer demands. 4. A good knowledge and understanding of DLP, IPS, IDS, MDR, NDR, and SOAR solutions, which could be beneficial for the implementation and improvement of SOC operations. 5. Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of cloud environments, host computers, servers, databases, laptops, firewalls and other devices for secure data storage and transfer. 6. Troubleshoot and maintain information security tool platforms and perform root cause analysis internally and externally with customer security teams. 7. Complete, deliver, and maintain security & compliance documentation for internal and external consumption. 8. Stay abreast of security best practices and technologies, and foster the growth of team members by providing, training, guidance and mentoring, including shift management. 9. Lead security projects from inception to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions on time. 10. Conduct ongoing research around the threat landscape, including threat actors, TTPs and develop analytical rules, IR actions, investigation strategies and tooling. 11. Support the SOC Team investigate and respond to client cyber security incidents taking an active role in incident response management. 12. Ensure each customer’s operational health is maintained and respond to all platform requests within agreed SLAs. 13. Evaluate, select, and implement security hardware, software, tools, and service providers to meet business requirements and enhance operational security capabilities. 14. Monitor security platform performance, conduct regular audits, and implement proactive measures to optimize KPI reliability, scalability, and quality of service. 15. Troubleshoot and respond complex security issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. 16. Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control policies. 17. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in security engineering, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's security infrastructure platform. 18. Collaborate with tooling and other operational teams to integrate security solutions with other systems and applications, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability with DEVOPs and CICD capabilities. 19. Govern common network security standards which includes policies, security review process and standards for routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points etc. 20. Vulnerability assessment tooling and reporting to be at the core of clients’ application and systems deployments. 21. Develop and maintain operational documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date information. Qualifications and Skills: 1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, GIAC, CCNP, CCIE,) are a must. 2. Demonstrated leadership in managing and guiding technical teams. 3. Extensive experience within a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) environment. 4. Advanced proficiency in SIEM, EDR, and EPP, with technical expertise in solutions including Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, and CrowdStrike Falcon. 5. Expertise in creating, tuning, and managing SIEM analytical rules to optimise threat detection and response capabilities, ensuring the efficacy and efficiency of security monitoring systems. 6. A robust understanding of query and scripting languages such as KQL, Python, PowerShell, and RegEx, enhancing operational efficiency. 7. Significant experience in leading responses to major security incidents. 8. Comprehensive knowledge of Windows, Linux, and cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and Office 365. 9. Proven ability in analysing complex data, making strategic recommendations, and presenting findings to client and management teams as part of continuous service improvement initiatives. 10. Detailed understanding of attack vectors, skilled in distinguishing between normal and anomalous activities, and adept at recommending countermeasures and remediation strategies. 11. Experience collaborating with penetration testers and Red Team members in conducting Purple Teaming events. 12. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex security issues and incidents. 13. Proficiency in network security practices, including firewall administration, intrusion detection/prevention, and access control policies. 14. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and prioritize multiple operational projects. 15. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors. 16. Continuous learning mindset to keep up with evolving security technologies and industry best practices.
