Applications and Systems Engineer (Mid-Senior)

Their solutions are widely used across validation, characterization, and manufacturing environments for customers worldwide.
2. Role Summary
The Applications and Systems Engineer will work closely with customers, internal engineering teams, and alliance partners to develop and deliver semiconductor test solutions. This role covers requirements gathering, technical solution design, project delivery, and post-deployment support, playing a key part in ensuring customers achieve reliable, high-performance test systems.
3. Key Responsibilities
Solution Development & Technical Design
● Collaborate with customers and internal teams to develop semiconductor test solutions.
● Gather customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications and Statements of Work (SOW).
● Design, integrate, and validate analog, digital, mixed-signal, and RF test systems based on device-under-test (DUT) requirements.
● Integrate modular instrumentation platforms into complete, turnkey test solutions.
Project & Customer Management
● Define project plans and lead technical reviews to ensure successful project delivery.
● Evaluate system performance, reliability, measurement accuracy, and cost of test.
● Provide technical support, training, and mentorship to customers and internal teams.
Deployment & Support
● Support system deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization at customer sites.
● Partner with customers and manufacturing teams to improve tester performance and reliability.
● Travel domestically and internationally as required (approximately 20%).
4. Qualifications
Experience
● Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
● At least 3 years of experience in system design, application engineering, semiconductor test engineering, or a related technical role.
Industry Knowledge
● Experience in semiconductor test and validation across areas such as RFIC, mixed-signal IC, RF front-end modules, on-wafer test, IPD, ADC/DAC, PMIC, MEMS sensors, or LED devices.
● Experience developing test software and implementing test cases.
● Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C/C++, C#, VB.NET, Java, or Python.
● Familiarity with semiconductor ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest V93000, Teradyne UltraFLEX/J750, Chroma PAX).
● Hands-on experience with test instrumentation, including SMUs, digital pattern instruments, digitizers, oscilloscopes, and RF instruments.
● Preferred: experience with modular instrumentation platforms and associated software tools (e.g., LabVIEW, TestStand); knowledge of RF, mixed-signal, and high-speed digital testing.
Leadership & Business Skills
● Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
● Solid project management capability, able to manage timelines and deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
● Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
Language
● Proficient English communication skills, both written and spoken.
