The Near Patient Physician Lead will provide clinical leadership for near-patient medical support, helping ensure that patients receive appropriate, timely, and coordinated care. Based in Tokyo, the role will combine direct clinical oversight with case coordination, medical decision-making, and stakeholder communication.
Key responsibilities will include assessing patient needs, advising on treatment pathways, coordinating with local healthcare providers, and supporting safe transitions of care. The Physician Lead will also help manage complex or escalated cases, promote consistent clinical standards, and contribute to service quality and operational improvement.
Success in this role will require a balanced approach: strong independent judgment, empathy for patients and families, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external medical partners in a multicultural environment.
Medical degree and current physician licensure appropriate to the role and jurisdiction.
Experience in clinical practice, patient assessment, care coordination, or medical case management.
Strong clinical judgment and the ability to assess complex situations and determine appropriate next steps.
Experience coordinating with hospitals, physicians, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize effectively, and remain composed in time-sensitive situations.
