This is a hands-on HR and administration role based in Tokyo, responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensuring smooth day-to-day people operations. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with Japanese employment law, delivering effective HR processes and acting as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers.
Core responsibilities include managing recruitment and selection, onboarding and offboarding, HR records, benefits administration, employee relations and workplace issue resolution. The role also covers support for training, recognition and performance evaluation processes, as well as office administration tasks such as vendor liaison, office supplies and IT matters. Regular collaboration with the global HR team will be central to the role.
Japanese national with at least 10 years’ work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
Fluent spoken and written Japanese and English.
Strong knowledge of Japanese employment laws, regulations and best practices.
Proven experience in recruiting, training and organisational development.
Experience handling work visa applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to foster healthy workplace relationships.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and attention to detail.
Good time management, multitasking ability and a global perspective.
