This is an established international business with a lean, collaborative culture and close day-to-day interaction between local and overseas teams. It values speed, accuracy and ownership, and offers the chance to work across a broad range of HR and administrative matters rather than within a narrow function.
The environment is hands-on and practical, making it well suited to someone who enjoys direct communication, visible impact and a varied workload. Based in Tokyo, the organisation provides a stable, permanent setting within a global framework, with regular contact with overseas stakeholders and external recruitment partners. It is an attractive place to work for professionals who want responsibility, variety and a genuinely collaborative team culture.
The HR Manager will take ownership of core HR operations for the Tokyo office, ensuring recruitment, employee administration and HR processes run smoothly and accurately. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines day-to-day operational support with broader HR coordination across the business.
Key responsibilities include managing the full recruitment process in partnership with agencies, supporting HR policy updates, administering the performance evaluation process, and overseeing attendance and paid leave management. You will also contribute to team-building activities and handle general HR and administrative duties. The role involves regular communication in English with overseas stakeholders and recruitment partners, so a practical, organised and responsive approach is essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across multiple priorities in a lean team environment, with the ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a proactive mindset are important, as the role combines internal support with external coordination and requires consistent follow-through.
