Join a global technology and consulting organisation that helps leading businesses transform and manage their operations through innovative technology. With an international community of colleagues, the organisation combines deep industry expertise with a strong commitment to sustainability, inclusion and responsible business.
You will become part of a collaborative environment where knowledge-sharing, professional development and individual career ownership are encouraged. The company works on complex, enterprise-scale transformation programmes, offering opportunities to engage with modern cloud platforms and technically demanding client environments.
This is an attractive opportunity for a cloud professional who wants to contribute to a major, multi-year transformation programme while developing their expertise alongside experienced specialists across international teams.
As a GKE Administrator and Cloud Delivery Engineer, you will manage, scale and continuously improve a Google Kubernetes Engine platform supporting a major enterprise cloud transformation programme. The role is focused on design, engineering and operational excellence, rather than application development or highly client-facing activity.
You will provision and optimise GKE clusters across multiple environments, manage networking, security and access controls, and oversee cluster upgrades, node pools, autoscaling and cost efficiency. You will define infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm, implement GitOps delivery through Argo CD or Flux, and manage Kubernetes-native tools such as ingress controllers, service mesh and policy controls.
You will also deliver observability solutions, automate operational activities with Ansible, support workload governance and collaborate with application teams on releases, environments and go-live activities.
At least four years’ experience administering production Kubernetes clusters, including a minimum of two years working with GKE.
Professional Google Cloud certification is required, with the Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification particularly relevant.
Strong hands-on experience with GKE networking, including VPC-native clusters, Shared VPC, private clusters and Cloud NAT.
Practical expertise provisioning GKE environments and node pools with Terraform, and packaging and deploying applications with Helm.
Solid understanding of Google Cloud IAM, Kubernetes RBAC and Workload Identity Federation.
Experience implementing GitOps practices using Argo CD or Flux and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of Ansible for configuration management and operational automation.
Understanding of container security, image scanning and Binary Authorisation.
Experience with Istio or Anthos Service Mesh, cloud monitoring, managed Prometheus and cloud logging would be advantageous.
Background in SRE practices, including service-level objectives and error-budget management, is desirable.
Strong design and engineering capability, with experience supporting enterprise-scale or multi-tenant platforms.
