Job Description
Role overview:
The Senior Brand Manager (OTC) will develop and implement brand strategies for the assigned OTC products, based on consumer and shopper insight, clear brand communication and close work with distributors and internal stakeholders. The role presents our client's brands to consumers, pharmacists and key trade partners, and makes sure all activities comply with pharmaceutical and advertising regulations.
Key responsibilities:
Strategy & planning: Develop and implement short- and mid-term brand strategies, including pricing, promotion and competitive positioning, to hit market share, revenue and profitability targets. Set, monitor and report on KPIs, ROI and budgets for all marketing activities and assigned brands.
Consumer & market intelligence: Research consumer needs, shopper behaviour, market trends and competitor activity on an ongoing basis. Use sell-in, sell-out and pharmacy channel data to find new consumer segments and growth opportunities that inform strategic decisions.
Brand communications: Plan and run integrated campaigns across ATL, BTL and digital channels that increase share of voice and strengthen brand equity. Keep all consumer-facing messaging consistent, and compliant with advertising approval requirements for OTC products.
Trade & channel marketing: Build in-store activation, promotion and merchandising programmes with pharmacy chains, independent pharmacies and e-commerce partners. Work with distributors to secure visibility, availability and promotion execution at point of sale.
Pharmacist & stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain relationships with pharmacy chain partners, pharmacists, opinion leaders and key internal and external stakeholders. Run pharmacist education and detailing programmes that support brand recommendation and consumer awareness.
Cross-functional collaboration: Give the sales team and distributors product knowledge, competitive training and trade marketing tools. Work with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain to keep product documentation, advertising approvals and stock planning up to date, and lead or contribute to cross-functional projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Business, Marketing or a related field. Candidates with a strong marketing background and proven OTC or consumer healthcare experience will also be considered.
At least 5 years' experience as a Brand or Product Manager in the pharmaceutical, OTC or consumer healthcare industry.
Demonstrated experience in brand planning, consumer and shopper analysis, and running marketing campaigns and trade activations.
In-depth understanding of consumer needs, pharmacy channel dynamics and the competitive landscape in the relevant OTC category.
Strong strategic thinking, business analysis and problem-solving skills, with sound decision-making and a focus on results.
Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage several complex projects to tight timelines and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
