The eCommerce Director will lead an eCommerce transformation programme for a retail organisation in Tokyo. This is a senior leadership position for an experienced eCommerce professional who can shape and drive transformation rather than focus primarily on delivery coordination or project administration.
The successful candidate will establish and execute the eCommerce transformation agenda, aligning business, commercial and technology priorities. Key responsibilities will include leading transformation initiatives, defining and tracking performance indicators, owning programme-level KPIs, and ensuring that improvements deliver measurable business value.
The role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across retail, digital, commercial and technology functions. The assignment is expected to start as soon as possible, run for three months with a possible extension, and require a full-time commitment. The position is based in Tokyo.
Strong experience working as an eCommerce Lead or eCommerce Director.
Demonstrable experience leading eCommerce transformation projects from strategy through to implementation and measurable outcomes.
Proven ownership of eCommerce performance indicators and transformation-related KPIs.
Strong experience within the retail industry, with a sound understanding of retail eCommerce operations and commercial priorities.
The ability to operate at senior stakeholder level and influence business, digital, commercial and technology teams.
A strategic and hands-on leadership approach, with the ability to turn transformation objectives into clear priorities and actions.
Professional fluency in both Japanese and English.
Availability to start as soon as possible.
Availability for a full-time, three-month temporary assignment, with the possibility of extension.
