About Our Client
Our client is a growing SaaS company that provides software for damage prevention, asset integrity, stakeholder engagement, and land management, helping energy, utility, telecom, and infrastructure companies protect their critical network infrastructure.
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Development Representative to join a team of ten, mainly supporting the North American market, with some work in other regions. This team runs research-driven outreach, not high-volume cold calling: you will research the people and companies you contact, identify exactly who to reach, and build personalized outreach campaigns from a baseline strategy provided by your manager. Industry knowledge is not required, since full training is provided. This is a remote role, working Monday to Friday on Eastern Time business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Research target accounts and contacts to understand each person and company before reaching out, and identify exactly who to engage.
- Build and execute personalized outreach campaigns and email strategies, based on a baseline strategy provided by your manager.
- Generate pipeline across the company's software solutions, mainly in the North American market, with some work in other regions.
- Qualify inbound opportunities and develop a strong pipeline for Account Executives.
- Book qualified meetings and calls for Account Executives.
- Work with an Account Executive to select target companies and develop strategic plans for new logos.
- Coordinate lead processing with Marketing for campaigns and conferences, including pre- and post-conference and webinar outreach.
- Share market intel gathered through research and outreach.
- Participate in business events, conferences, and trade shows as needed, with occasional travel (around 10%).
Requirements
- Strong research skills: the ability to understand a person and a company before reaching out, and to identify the right contacts.
- Ability to build personalized outreach campaigns and email strategies, focused on quality over volume.
- Strong time management and organization.
- Ability to work independently and stay self-driven in a remote setting.
- Smart and coachable, able to take big ideas and run with them without micromanagement.
- Handles pressure well, is willing to try new things, and takes ownership.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday on Eastern Time business hours.
Nice-to-Have
- Bilingual or multilingual, especially French. Spanish and Portuguese are also valuable.
- At least 1 year in business development or sales development.
- SaaS experience.
- Industry knowledge in utilities, energy, pipelines, or infrastructure.
- Experience with work management or field service software.
- Bachelor's degree.
Compensation
CAD $50,000 per year.
Benefits
- Join a dynamic, growing company that is well respected in its industry.
- Health plan options including medical, dental, and vision.
- 401k (US), RSP (Canada) + company match.
- Flexible PTO policy plus company-paid holidays.
- Benefits options such as health insurance, life insurance, discounts, and perks programs.
- Generous work-from-home stipend to get you started.
- Team events, including monthly lunches, volunteer outings, and quarterly gatherings.
