As Head of Japan, Institutional Client Solutions, you will lead client engagement, fundraising, and strategic relationship development with leading institutional investors in Japan, with some exposure to wholesale channels as a plus. You will serve as a senior market representative, owning high-level client dialogues across the firm’s full suite of private markets strategies.
This role combines external relationship leadership with internal coordination. You will build and grow a high-performing client coverage capability, partner with global and regional colleagues to ensure aligned messaging and cross-sell opportunities, and support the firm’s broader Japan and regional fundraising strategy. Success in the role requires a content-led sales approach, strong technical credibility at CIO level, and the ability to translate complex investment ideas into compelling client narratives.
15+ years of institutional sales, distribution, or fundraising experience in private markets, alternatives, or investment management
Proven track record raising capital in Japan
Strong understanding of private markets, portfolio construction, risk/return trade-offs, and structuring
Established senior relationships across pensions, insurers, banks, asset managers, and large institutions in Japan
Fluency in Japanese and English
