Role overview:
This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Board of Directors. The Sourcing Manager will identify, evaluate and secure new manufacturing technologies, products and machinery from China for the company's F&B production. Working between Vietnam and China, the role acts as the bridge between both sides so the company can understand and apply new production technologies effectively.
Key responsibilities:
Technology & Equipment Sourcing: Research and identify new F&B manufacturing technologies, machinery, equipment and products from the China market through supplier visits, factory tours and industry exhibitions.
Evaluation & Recommendation: Assess the technical capability, quality, cost and suitability of each option, and present findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Selection & Deal Closing: Shortlist suppliers, lead negotiations and finalise agreements for the solutions the Board approves.
Technology Transfer & Implementation: Coordinate with production, R&D and engineering teams in Vietnam so they understand the new technologies, and support their installation and application in the factory.
Cross-border Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between the company and Chinese partners, keeping communication clear and both sides aligned throughout each project.
Market & Trend Intelligence: Monitor developments in China's F&B manufacturing sector, and provide regular trend updates to the Board.
Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement or a technical role in F&B manufacturing.
Solid understanding of F&B manufacturing technologies, production lines and industrial equipment.
Good knowledge of the supplier landscape in China, with experience negotiating with Chinese manufacturers.
Strong analytical, presentation and negotiation skills, with the confidence to report directly to senior leadership.
Able to travel frequently between Vietnam and China.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, to negotiate and liaise with suppliers and partners in China.
Fluency in Vietnamese, to report to the Board and coordinate with teams in Vietnam.
