General Manager — Industrial Manufacturing
Our client is an established industrial services business specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of conveyor systems for heavy industrial and large-scale material handling operations. The business operates as part of a larger regional industrial group.
They are hiring a General Manager to take full ownership of the business, reporting directly to the Group COO.
The role
This is a hands-on leadership position in a lean, operationally focused organisation. The General Manager will carry full P&L responsibility and be expected to remain close to the business, not manage from a distance.
Key responsibilities include:
Full P&L responsibility and overall business performance
Development and execution of business strategy
Operational performance across manufacturing, projects, installation and after-sales services
Revenue growth, market development and strengthening of client relationships
Tendering, pricing, contract performance and commercial negotiations
Cost optimisation, productivity improvement and working-capital management
Safety, quality, compliance and operational-risk management
Delivery of projects and customer commitments within agreed timelines and margins
Leadership of a lean, cross-functional team across operations, sales, supply chain, finance and support
Clear, reliable reporting to the COO on performance, risks and corrective actions
What we're looking for
Around 10–15 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, engineering services, EPC, heavy industry, material handling, cement, mining, petrochemicals or a closely related sector
Previous experience as a General Manager, Business Unit Head, Managing Director, Operations Director or comparable senior leadership role
Proven full P&L ownership covering revenue, margins, cost, cash flow and business growth
Strong operational and commercial capability, not solely technical expertise
A practical, hands-on leadership style, comfortable operating in a lean organisation
Evidence of improving operational performance, productivity or profitability
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Fluent in Arabic and English
