As an ISR Operator, you will support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations using satellite-derived information and geospatial data. Based in Tokyo within a hybrid working environment, you will help transform complex operational information into timely, actionable insights for mission-focused customers.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and coordinating ISR activities, interpreting geospatial datasets and imagery, supporting operational decision-making, and maintaining strong situational awareness in time-sensitive environments. You may contribute to missions involving maritime domain awareness, disaster response, border security, and other defense or security applications.
The role requires excellent attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to remain effective under pressure. You will collaborate with technical, operational, and customer-facing teams and may work flexible schedules or rotating shifts, including within a 24/7 operations environment.
Experience in ISR operations, geospatial intelligence, satellite operations, remote sensing, defense, security operations, or a closely related field.
Bachelor’s degree in geospatial intelligence, remote sensing, engineering, defense studies, computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
Native-level Japanese proficiency and business-level English communication skills.
Ability to obtain Japanese security clearance or an equivalent level of authorization.
Valid Japanese driver’s license.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex geospatial datasets and operational information.
Demonstrated operational decision-making, situational awareness, customer focus, communication, time management, attention to detail, adaptability, and mission-execution skills.
Comfort working in fast-paced, mission-critical environments and adapting to flexible schedules or shift rotations.
Experience with Synthetic Aperture Radar imagery analysis, GIS, or imagery-analysis platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or ENVI is highly valued.
Military, defense, intelligence, law enforcement, software development, or engineering experience is advantageous.
Experience supporting Japanese government, defense, or security organizations, or working in a 24/7 command or operations center, is a plus.
