The HR Manager will support the Japan business as part of the North Asia People team, reporting to the North Asia Head of Human Resources. The role will provide comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, balancing operational delivery with talent and organisational development.
Key responsibilities will include advising managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, performance improvement and employment law; supporting talent acquisition, employer branding, talent development and training initiatives; and strengthening employee engagement. The role will also coach managers, contribute to change initiatives and collaborate closely with HR operations, shared services and human capital intelligence teams.
The position will manage an HR Operations Senior Specialist and may offer future progression towards broader strategic People leadership, including Head of HR Japan.
At least five years’ HR experience, with a strong focus on talent management.
At least three years’ experience managing people.
Strong knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements.
Practical experience in employee relations, conflict resolution and mediation.
Experience coaching managers, supporting performance improvement and strengthening employee engagement.
Experience designing or delivering talent development and training programmes.
Experience in talent acquisition and corporate or employer branding.
Familiarity with HR information systems and HR technology.
Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
