This role leads the rollout of the company’s connected vehicle solution in Japan, starting with a pilot phase and scaling towards broader deployment. You will be the first person on the ground, working directly with local depot teams and partners to install, test, validate and commission devices in real-world conditions, including OBD/JOBD-powered installations.
Initially, the role is highly hands-on: completing installs, troubleshooting issues, checking connectivity and ensuring first-time success. As the rollout matures, the focus shifts towards training others, improving processes, coordinating schedules and building a repeatable operating model. You will also support the set-up of local service and support capability, act as the link between Japan and wider technical teams, and provide clear reporting on issues, trends and rollout progress.
Fluent Japanese and working-level English
Hands-on technical experience in automotive, electronics or field engineering
Experience in installation or field-based roles
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, cloud and connectivity
Experience delivering projects across multiple teams, regions and time zones
Valid driver’s licence
