The Group Network Management Director will lead network strategy, dealer development, and business improvement activities across multiple automotive brands in Japan. The position will develop long-term network plans, assess market and competitor data, identify opportunities for expansion or consolidation, and manage dealer selection, succession, facility investment, and contract processes.
The role will also oversee dealer profitability analysis, financial risk reporting, retail audits, mystery shopping, and initiatives to improve customer experience and operational standards. In addition, the director will lead strategic projects involving electric-vehicle charging infrastructure, dealer management and CRM systems, e-commerce, and other digital customer journey platforms.
Working closely with sales, after-sales, legal, finance, technology teams, dealers, investors, and external suppliers, the director will ensure that projects are delivered effectively, contractual commitments are fulfilled, and the network remains compliant, digitally capable, financially healthy, and sustainable over the long term.
University degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
Significant experience leading complex, cross-functional business and technology projects from planning through execution.
Background in automotive retail, dealer network development, business improvement, infrastructure, or a closely related industry.
Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
Experience managing dealer development, investor selection, network restructuring, facility projects, or comparable business partnerships.
Solid knowledge of contract management, commercial negotiations, budget oversight, and stakeholder governance.
Ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify performance risks, and recommend practical profitability improvements.
Strong statistical analysis and reporting skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and conflict-management abilities.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous environment.
Results-oriented approach with strong execution skills and the ability to turn strategic plans into measurable outcomes.
Working knowledge of legal and regulatory considerations related to construction and facility development.
