OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Industry: Heavy civil / infrastructure contracting — Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our client is a well-established contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure programs, including roads and highways, asphalt production, and facilities/operations & maintenance.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (head office based, with regular travel to active project sites)

Role Purpose:

A newly created senior leadership position, reporting directly to the CEO, providing a single point of operational oversight across all live projects and business lines. The Operations Director will bridge executive strategy and day-to-day project delivery, ensuring consistent governance, performance, and accountability across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own operational delivery across all active projects, spanning EPC, asphalt production, and facilities/O&M business lines

• Act as the single point of accountability to the CEO for project performance — cost, schedule, quality, and HSE

• Build and strengthen the operational structure and reporting lines between head office and site leadership

• Standardize project controls, governance, and reporting across a multi-project portfolio

• Represent the company operationally with clients, authorities, and joint venture partners on major programs

• Identify and resolve cross-project risks, resourcing conflicts, and delivery bottlenecks

• Support business development and bid teams with operational input on major pursuits

Requirements:

• Extensive career built within contracting organizations — direct contractor background essential (not consultancy or design)

• Deep experience in horizontal infrastructure (roads, earthworks, utilities, civil structures)

• Track record leading multi-project portfolios, ideally within Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC

• Experience on mega-scale programs is strongly preferred

• Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills

• Open to candidates of any nationality within Saudi Arabia.
