about 3 hoursJoin a multidisciplinary communications and creative agency in Japan, where production, digital, creative, media, strategy and account teams work together to deliver connected work for major brands. The organisation brings together specialist teams and gives people the opportunity to contribute their expertise and see how digital execution supports wider client activity. Its workforce is internationally diverse, while teams collaborate closely with clients and colleagues in Japanese. For a web engineer, this offers a practical, team-supported environment: you will work alongside other web engineers, benefit from documented processes and handover, and make a visible contribution to ongoing digital content operations. The role is an opportunity to deepen your CMS and front-end expertise while helping improve the quality and maintainability of live web experiences.
As a Web Engineer (CMS), you will support the ongoing maintenance and development of web content for a major international restaurant brand in Japan. You will update content through a client-specific CMS, using its standard features where possible and applying front-end coding where they do not meet the requirements. This may involve coding individual components or, when needed, complete pages from scratch. You will work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and collaborate with the wider production team, including account colleagues and other web engineers. Accuracy is essential: content can include important pricing and allergen information, so you will need to understand requirements and implement them carefully. You may also advise on technical specifications and explain solutions clearly to clients and colleagues without technical backgrounds. The role is a fixed-term contract, initially for six months, with a further six-month extension subject to performance; longer-term annual renewals are hoped for. The team currently works onsite three days a week, increasing to four days from March. Rare urgent weekend work may arise, with time off arranged.
