We are seeking an experienced Director, Pricing & Contracting to lead the development and execution of the company's US pricing strategy, commercial contracting, gross-to-net management, and government pricing operations across its oncology and specialty portfolio, including biosimilars and innovative biologics.
This role will have broad ownership across the US pricing and contracting ecosystem, including WAC strategy, price setting, gross-to-net performance, commercial payer and PBM contracting, and government pricing compliance across Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, and VA/FSS channels.
The successful candidate will combine deep expertise in US pharmaceutical pricing economics and government pricing requirements with strong commercial judgment, sophisticated financial modeling capabilities, and demonstrated experience negotiating complex payer and government contracts.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring close partnership with Market Access, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Trade & GPO, Sales, Payer Marketing, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Global teams to maximize access and net price realization while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence.
Lead the development, recommendation, and execution of US pricing strategies across assigned oncology, biosimilar, and specialty products.
Own WAC strategy, price corridors, launch pricing, and lifecycle price optimization.
Develop pricing scenarios, competitive assessments, financial models, and revenue impact analyses to support executive decision-making.
Establish robust pricing governance processes aligned with global pricing policies, US legal and regulatory requirements, and corporate financial objectives.
Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Market Access leadership to ensure pricing decisions are strategically sound, defensible, auditable, and appropriately documented.
Monitor market dynamics, competitive pricing, reimbursement trends, and evolving policy requirements to proactively identify pricing opportunities and risks.
Develop and execute pricing and contracting strategies with commercial payers, PBMs, Medicare Part D plans, GPOs, and other organized customers.
Lead the design, financial modeling, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial contracts to optimize access, formulary positioning, and net price realization.
Develop and manage rebate, discount, administrative fee, incentive, and other contractual structures.
Evaluate trade-offs between access, market share, gross-to-net impact, and profitability.
Oversee the complete contracting lifecycle, from strategic design and negotiation through implementation, monitoring, and renewal.
Assess opportunities for value-based, outcomes-based, and innovative contracting models where appropriate.
Establish contract performance metrics and ROI frameworks to assess the effectiveness of contracting strategies.
Ensure commercial contracts are executed in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Lead US government pricing operations and ensure accurate and timely compliance across applicable programs and channels.
Oversee pricing calculations and reporting, including AMP, Best Price, ASP, 340B ceiling price, and VA/FSS pricing.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of required pricing information to CMS, HRSA, VA, and other applicable government agencies.
Establish and maintain robust government pricing methodologies, controls, documentation, and audit trails.
Monitor changes in federal healthcare legislation, regulations, CMS guidance, and other government requirements and assess their implications for the company's pricing and contracting strategies.
Lead government contracting and administration activities, including FSS, 340B/PHS, and other applicable government programs, in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
Maintain a high level of audit readiness and data integrity across government pricing operations.
Lead and develop government pricing capabilities and ensure appropriate systems, processes, and controls are in place as the US business scales.
Own the US gross-to-net strategy, forecasting, accruals, and performance analytics across the portfolio.
Develop and maintain sophisticated GTN models incorporating pricing decisions, contract terms, utilization, channel mix, rebates, discounts, and other price erosion drivers.
Partner with Finance and Market Access leadership to improve net revenue forecasting and identify opportunities to optimize price realization.
Identify and mitigate GTN leakage, unexpected price erosion, contract performance issues, and other financial risks.
Establish GTN dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms that provide senior leadership with clear visibility into net price performance and key drivers.
Translate GTN analytics into actionable recommendations for pricing, contracting, forecasting, and commercial strategy.
Serve as the organization's subject-matter expert on US pricing, contracting, reimbursement, and net price realization.
Provide strategic counsel to the Head of Market Access & Pricing and senior commercial leadership.
Partner closely with Trade & GPO, Field Reimbursement, Payer Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial Operations.
Collaborate with Global Market Access and commercial teams to align US pricing and contracting strategies with broader corporate and portfolio objectives.
Support launch readiness by ensuring pricing strategies, contract structures, government pricing processes, systems, and operational capabilities are fully established ahead of commercialization.
Translate complex pricing and contracting issues into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Drive cross-functional alignment while effectively managing competing commercial, financial, regulatory, and access priorities.
Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing pricing and contracting organization as the US business scales.
Provide strategic direction to government pricing and contracting specialists and other team members.
Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, development plans, and accountability standards.
Foster a culture centered on analytical rigor, commercial excellence, compliance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Develop scalable pricing, contracting, and GTN capabilities to support future US product launches and portfolio expansion.
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field required.
Advanced degree such as MBA, PharmD, MPH, JD, or MS in a quantitative discipline preferred.
10–12+ years of progressive pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, with significant experience in US pricing, contracting, government pricing, gross-to-net, or market access.
Deep expertise in US pharmaceutical pricing mechanics, including WAC, AMP, Best Price, ASP, 340B, Medicaid, Medicare, and VA/FSS requirements.
Proven experience managing GTN forecasting, accruals, analytics, and price realization in a specialty pharmaceutical, biologics, or biosimilars environment.
Demonstrated track record negotiating and implementing contracts with commercial payers, PBMs, government purchasers, and/or other organized customers.
Strong understanding of federal healthcare programs and associated pricing and compliance requirements.
Experience overseeing government pricing operations, reporting, documentation, controls, and audit processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead within a matrixed organization and influence senior stakeholders across functions.
Advanced financial modeling, Excel, and pricing analytics capabilities with strong commercial and financial acumen.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage highly complex, sensitive, and regulated pricing information.
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and rapidly scaling biotech environment.
Direct experience in oncology, biosimilars, biologics, or specialty pharmaceuticals.
Experience with buy-and-bill and/or specialty pharmacy distribution models.
Experience working in both large pharmaceutical companies and growth-stage biotech environments.
Experience building or scaling US pricing, contracting, GTN, or government pricing infrastructure.
Demonstrated success delivering pricing optimization, GTN improvement, and access outcomes.
Experience with value-based contracting, outcomes-based agreements, or innovative payment models.
Established relationships across US commercial payers, PBMs, GPOs, and/or government purchasing organizations.
Experience with pricing and revenue management platforms such as Model N, Revitas, SAP, or comparable systems.
Experience implementing or optimizing government pricing calculation and reporting systems.
Experience supporting multiple product launches within a rapidly expanding commercial organization.
