The Senior HR Director will serve as the key strategic HR advisor to the leadership team in Japan, helping shape and deliver the people agenda in line with business growth and organizational priorities. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen HR leadership, improve organizational effectiveness, and support a high-performance culture.
You will lead the HR function across talent management, organizational development, employee engagement, and HR operations, while also partnering closely with senior leaders on workforce planning, succession, performance management, and change initiatives. The role also includes hands-on leadership of employee relations, labor law compliance, working-hours and overtime governance, harassment prevention, leave administration, and employee wellbeing. Success in this role will require strong influence, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategy with execution in a complex, multi-site environment.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field; postgraduate qualification desirable.
15+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in HR leadership.
Strong stakeholder influence and senior leadership partnering skills.
Deep knowledge of Japan labor law, compliance, and HR best practices.
Experience in organizational development, change management, and talent strategy.
Fluent English and Japanese; strong Excel, MS Office, and data/dashboard skills.
