Chuo City, Japan
about 2 hoursOur client is a globally diversified investment group with interests across sectors that shape the economy, including mobility, energy, environmental services, financial services and healthcare. Its portfolio also spans areas such as real estate, logistics, retail and media.
The group combines a long-term investment outlook with an international perspective and a broad range of operating businesses. Its lean, high-trust environment gives investment professionals the opportunity to take meaningful ownership, work closely with senior decision-makers and contribute to important portfolio decisions. For an investor looking to apply broad private and public markets expertise in Japan, this is an opportunity to help develop a significant investment initiative within a well-established global organisation.
The Investment Principal will help manage and grow the Japan investment portfolio across private and public markets. Working closely with senior leadership, you will source, evaluate, execute and monitor investments, with a broad remit spanning venture and private equity funds, direct and co-investments, Japanese equities and external hedge fund strategies.
You will lead due diligence, financial modelling and valuation work, assess managers and investment opportunities, and prepare recommendations for the investment committee. The role also involves monitoring portfolio and fund performance, developing relationships across Japan’s investment ecosystem, and contributing to portfolio allocation, risk oversight and internal reporting. As this is a developing initiative with a lean team, you will have the scope to operate with autonomy and, as the team grows, work alongside and support junior colleagues.
