As Finance and Accounting Manager, you will oversee the company’s core accounting activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting. Reporting to the Japan General Manager and the headquarters Finance Team, you will manage invoicing, expense settlements, payment processing and monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings.
You will prepare consolidated financial statements, semi-annual and business reports, and financial disclosure materials, including supplementary schedules and earnings releases. The role will also involve identifying accounting considerations arising from new business operations or changes in accounting standards, preparing management reports and presenting financial information to senior management.
You will liaise with tax advisers and external auditors, including negotiating key matters, analyse financial data and communicate regularly with headquarters in English or Korean. The position is based onsite in Tokyo and also includes general office administration.
At least four years’ experience in an accounting or finance department.
Experience negotiating key matters with audit firms and liaising with external auditors.
Experience preparing consolidated financial statements, semi-annual reports and business reports.
Experience preparing financial disclosure documents, including financial statements, supplementary schedules and earnings releases.
Experience planning and implementing business process improvements.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings to executive management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or comparable business tools.
Business-level Japanese, equivalent to JLPT N1.
Conversational English or Korean for communication with headquarters.
A professional attitude and strong motivation for continuous improvement and growth.
Genuine interest in fashion and an ability to combine commercial awareness with professional judgement.
