About the Company
Our client is a privately held real estate investment, development and operating platform with a growing portfolio of serviced apartments and residential assets in Ho Chi Minh City. The company takes an owner-operator approach across the asset lifecycle, from acquisition and design through renovation, leasing and long-term operations. Its focus is to create attractive, functional and durable residential products that deliver strong customer experience and sustainable investment performance.
The Opportunity
The company is seeking a hands-on Senior Interior Designer to develop and elevate the interior product across its residential and serviced-apartment portfolio. The role covers space planning, materials, colours, lighting, joinery, furniture, equipment and FF&E, with direct involvement from initial concept through mock-up, procurement, construction, installation and handover.
This is an owner-side role for a designer who combines creativity with practical and commercial judgment. The successful candidate will translate ordinary spaces into differentiated, desirable homes while balancing aesthetics, functionality, durability, cost, buildability, maintenance and long-term operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Translate product positioning, target-customer needs and brand direction into clear, compelling and executable interior concepts.
Develop space plans, mood boards, colour palettes, material schemes and interior design solutions for apartments, guestrooms and common areas.
Design and refine key elements including beds, wardrobes, kitchens, bathroom vanities, desks, lighting, fixed joinery, loose furniture and related details.
Optimise small and medium-sized residential spaces to improve usability, comfort, storage and the perception of space.
Recommend design improvements that enhance customer experience, rental appeal, perceived value and overall product quality.
Source, assess and specify materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, equipment, suppliers and brands available in Vietnam.
Evaluate FF&E and materials for appearance, durability, cleanability, maintainability, replacement, lead time and lifecycle cost.
Work with Cost & Commercial and Procurement teams to keep design solutions within approved budgets; identify viable alternatives without compromising the overall product.
Coordinate with Architecture, Project Development, Procurement, Operations, contractors, suppliers and external design consultants.
Review design drawings, construction documentation, shop drawings, material submissions, colour samples, furniture samples, prototypes and contractor submittals.
Verify critical dimensions and site conditions where they affect design, fabrication or installation; flag discrepancies and propose solutions before mass production or construction.
Develop and review mock-up rooms, prototypes and key design details before wider rollout.
Attend site during critical fit-out and FF&E installation stages; inspect workmanship, materials, colours, dimensions, details and compliance with approved designs.
Identify design and quality issues, coordinate defect lists and follow actions through to satisfactory closure.
Prepare clear drawings, images, samples and presentation options to support management decisions.
Manage design-related milestones and provide early warning of risks to cost, quality or programme.
Candidate Profile
Approximately 5–8+ years of experience in interior design; exceptional candidates may be considered based on portfolio and demonstrated capability.
A strong portfolio in residential, serviced apartments, hospitality guestrooms, show units or comparable products.
Strong design judgment across space, proportion, colour, materials, furniture, lighting and detailing.
Proven ability to take a design from concept through technical development, mock-up, construction, installation and handover.
Hands-on experience with joinery, furniture, kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, lighting, materials and FF&E.
Good knowledge of furniture manufacturers, material suppliers and design brands in Vietnam.
Ability to assess products for design quality, cost, durability, maintenance and suitability for long-term rental use.
Strong ability to read and review technical drawings, shop drawings and fabrication details.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and relevant design/presentation tools.
Commercial and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance design ambition against budget, lead time, buildability and operational needs.
Proactive, detail-oriented and accountable, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
Comfortable working closely with contractors, suppliers, consultants and site teams, and travelling regularly to sites, workshops and showrooms in Ho Chi Minh City.
Good English is preferred for technical documents, presentations and communication with international partners.
Location
