This opportunity is with a Tokyo-based early-stage investment fund and startup accelerator that backs founders in Japan and internationally. With an established track record of supporting startups, the organisation combines investment activity with hands-on engagement across the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Its portfolio spans domestic and overseas markets, including the United States and Europe.
The team is intentionally compact, giving new colleagues the chance to work closely with senior investment leaders and contribute across the investment process. The fund is continuing to raise capital while sourcing and making investments, offering the opportunity to join at an active stage of its development. A hybrid working arrangement and regular engagement with founders, investors and the wider startup community make this a varied role with broad exposure.
As a Capitalist, you will help identify and assess promising early-stage businesses, contribute to investment decisions and build relationships with founders across Japan and international markets. You will work within a small investment team, with opportunities to take part in the full range of fund activity as the team continues to source and invest.
The role also involves engaging with limited partners and portfolio companies, including through frequent business travel. As fundraising for the current fund continues alongside investment activity, you will contribute in a dynamic environment where priorities span both capital formation and deployment. This is an opportunity to develop a broad investment perspective and work closely with founders and colleagues across a diverse portfolio.
