About the job

The Country Head – Malaysia is a senior leadership role responsible for driving P&L performance, business growth, client acquisition, and team leadership across executive search and professional recruitment. This individual will serve as CGP’s senior representative in Malaysia, shaping market strategy while building a high-performing, values-driven consulting team.

Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

• Own full P&L responsibility for CGP Malaysia, including revenue growth, profitability, and cost control

• Define and execute the Malaysia market strategy aligned with CGP’s regional and global objectives

• Identify new growth opportunities across executive search, retained/contingent recruitment, and advisory services

• Build long-term partnerships with C-suite, Board members, and senior HR leaders

Business Development & Client Management

• Drive new client acquisition across multinational, regional, and local enterprises

• Personally lead and close senior-level search mandates and key strategic accounts

• Strengthen CGP’s brand presence and reputation in the Malaysia recruitment market

• Collaborate with regional and global CGP offices on cross-border search assignments

Leadership & Team Development

• Build, lead, and mentor a team of recruitment and search consultants

• Establish a strong performance culture with clear KPIs, coaching, and career pathways

• Attract top recruitment talent and develop succession within the Malaysia business

• Promote collaboration, ethical recruitment practices, and client-centric delivery

Operational & Governance Excellence

• Ensure compliance with local employment regulations and corporate governance standards

• Implement CGP systems, processes, and best practices to scale operations efficiently

• Provide regular business reporting and forecasts to regional leadership

Qualifications:

• 10–15+ years of experience in recruitment or executive search, with strong Malaysia market coverage

• Proven track record in billing, business development, and team leadership

• Experience running or contributing to P&L ownership at country , practice, or business-unit level

• Strong network across senior executives, HR leaders, and decision-makers

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to scale a business in a competitive market

• Prior experience in executive search or retained search is highly advantageous
