The General Manager will lead sales operations in Japan, with responsibility for driving retail and wholesale performance, growing revenue, and expanding market share. This role oversees a team of Area Sales Managers and works closely with dealerships, OEM partners, fleet operators, and other key clients to deliver commercial results aligned with broader business strategy.
The position requires strong leadership and analytical capability, along with the ability to monitor market trends, evaluate competitor activity, and adjust plans quickly. The role also partners cross-functionally with marketing, product, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to shape campaigns and offerings, while tracking forecasts, performance metrics, and compliance requirements. Success will be measured by sales volume, profitability, dealer satisfaction, team productivity, and retention. 5+ years of sales experience in an automotive importer environment
Strong knowledge of the automotive importer business
Proven track record of meeting regional sales targets and revenue goals
Strong leadership, negotiation, and customer relationship skills
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Experience with market analysis, forecasting, and CRM systems
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
Intermediate English proficiency
Valid driver’s license
